Intent
At FreshSteps, Personal, Social, Health, and Economic (PSHE) education is integral to preparing pupils for their future. It equips them with the knowledge, skills, and attributes needed to manage their lives effectively and safely. This holistic approach ensures that students are prepared for life and work by focusing on:
- Staying healthy and safe.
- Developing positive relationships.
- Making informed decisions.
Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) aims to provide students with the information needed to form healthy relationships. This includes understanding:
- What constitutes a healthy relationship.
- The qualities of good friendships, successful marriages, and other committed relationships.
- Contraception, intimate relationships, and resisting sexual pressure.
- Acceptable and unacceptable behavior in relationships.
Our RSE curriculum supports students in understanding the positive impacts of healthy relationships on mental wellbeing and managing situations where relationships may not be appropriate.
