Course content
Studying music technology at FreshSteps is an exciting opportunity to learn how to make music and be creative.
Units that are covered in the course include music production, chords and scales, recording in the studio, radio production, music for film and TV. Knowledge and experience gained during these units can give you the key skills to make it in the competitive music industry.
Students will be using state of the art mac desktops with keyboards and microphones in the brand new Sixth Form music studio.
Assessment overview
Students will be completing a coursework-based qualification that focuses on practical tasks. Each unit is assessed on completion of set tasks and written work.
Progression
There are many jobs out there in the music industry such as producer, composer, mixing/mastering engineer, radio presenter, recording engineer, and many more.
Studying music technology will set you up to move onto higher qualifications such as level 1/2 BTECs in music technology and other related subjects that will open more doors in your career path.
